The dendrobiums I plant bloom every year. I think it’s quite simple.

The Dendrobium I planted blooms every year. Some people say that Dendrobium is difficult to grow, but I think it is actually easier to grow than many flowers.

Share a few key points:

  1. Planting material. I tried orchid stone and vermiculite, but finally found that volcanic stone mixed with a little pine bark is the best. Volcanic stone can automatically adjust the pH value, and the trace elements it contains are also beneficial to the growth of Dendrobium.
  2. Flower pot. There should be no accumulation of water when planting Dendrobium, so you must use a drainage tray. Even if you water it heavily, the water will flow away temporarily.
  3. Position. Dendrobium cannot be exposed to direct sunlight, just a little scattered light is fine. The best position is to place it under other taller plants, such as a fortune tree, a lucky tree, a carambola tree, etc. about one meter high, and place the entire Phalaenopsis tray under the tree.
  4. Ventilation. There should be no other objects blocking the wind source (such as the side of the balcony facing outward), so that the natural wind can blow gently.
  5. Symbiotic plants. You can plant some ferns next to the Dendrobium. Ferns are a perfect match for all epiphytic orchids, and ferns will help to moisturize.
  6. Watering. Water and spray in midsummer, and spray the leaves and stems with spray in spring and autumn.
  7. Fertilization. It doesn’t have to be too complicated. Use the general water fertilizer for hydroponic plants on a daily basis, dilute it and spray the leaves. If it is close to the flowering period, you can use potassium dihydrogen phosphate, which can also be sprayed on the leaves.
  8. Try not to let spring Dendrobium touch rain, otherwise it will not be able to hold up in midsummer, but autumn Dendrobium is not afraid.

The above is my experience in growing Dendrobium, and everyone is welcome to add to it.
